Raul Campilho is currently professor of Structural Mechanics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Politecnico di Milano. He has received several national awards: Scholarship from Associazione Carlo Maddalena – Milano for young graduate students (1996) and Scholarship from Fondazione Confalonieri – Milano for young Ph.D. students (2000). He has also served as a contributing editor and reviewer for several journal specials. He has held positions in several national conferences. His research interests include: Ductile fracture, Damage and fracture in quasi-brittle materials,  Parameter identification via Kalman filtering, Reliability analysis of MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) subject to shocks, Structural health monitoring through MEMS sensors. He has also published extensively in several internationally renowned publications.
